About IQ MD

Meet Our Staff

IQ MD is a small team on purpose. You will see the same faces every visit, and we will know your name and your story.

Meet Dr. Quiñones

I spent 26 years in the emergency department. Too many of the problems I saw could have been prevented. That is why I built IQ MD: to find what is actually wrong instead of just writing another prescription.

I started IQ MD in 2022, because my friends and I needed proper hormone treatment and nobody around was doing it right. Locally, hormone therapy was an afterthought. Most doctors were not trained in it and did not want to bother. Online, the flashy clinics wanted $900 to $1,500 a month and gave you almost nothing back. So I started treating the people closest to me. I learned as I went, made my share of mistakes, and figured it out. And we all started feeling better.

Genuinely better.

People talked. IQ MD grew because one patient would tell another. The more people I saw, the more it hit me that hormones were only half the story. Good hormone care kept leading back to functional medicine, which is really just the work of finding the root of a problem instead of babysitting the symptoms. So I added it. As soon as I did, women started coming in, because for years nobody had bothered to ask them why they felt the way they felt.

That part still bothers me. People walk around for years with something fixable, something that could change their whole life if anyone looked for it, and the system just is not looking.

COVID was when it broke for me. I lost a lot of faith in medicine and how much power pharmaceutical and insurance companies have over people’s healthcare. The priorities got obvious. Hormone therapy got harder to offer, not easier, and medical school still barely touches it.

I could not pretend I had not noticed. After 26 years in the emergency department, watching crisis after crisis that good preventive care could have stopped years earlier, I decided to quit waiting on the system and build what I wished existed.

These days at IQ MD, I offer hormone replacement, functional medicine, peptides, and IV infusions. NAD+, glutathione, and high-dose vitamin C are my favorites.

Four years in, I am taking the next step and sitting for my board certification in functional medicine. I am genuinely excited to make it official and dig deeper into a field that is finally asking the right questions.

This is the kind of medicine I always wanted to practice. I would be glad to practice it with you.

Meet DQ

With nearly 30 years in nursing and more than two decades caring for patients across a wide range of specialties, DQ brings experience, compassion, and a genuine love for people to every patient interaction.

She began her nursing career in 1998 after earning her nursing degree from Darton College, starting in the fast-paced environment of the emergency room. Since then, she has served in a variety of roles, including Assistant Nurse Manager for the ER night shift, chemotherapy nurse, interventional radiology nurse, trauma surgical care nurse, internal medicine, and cancer care. Today, she serves as the Assistant Nurse Manager of the Neuro Unit at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, where she continues to lead with skill, empathy, and a calm presence.

For DQ, healthcare has always been about more than treating symptoms. It’s about getting to know the person behind the patient, earning their trust, and helping them feel their best every step of the way.

“One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to know people beyond their chart. I love building relationships, celebrating the wins, working through the tough days, and walking alongside my patients as they take charge of their health. By the end of it, it feels like we’ve been on the journey together, and that’s the kind of care I believe everyone deserves.”

Outside of work, DQ is a proud mom to two boys. Her oldest is a rising junior at Thomasville High School, and her youngest attends Jerger Elementary. Whether she’s cheering from the sidelines, spending time with family, or caring for patients, she brings the same warmth, humor, and wholehearted dedication to everything she does.
